50p-sized Ibiza gecko ends up in London after hiding in luggage

A tiny gecko has spent the last three months living in London after stowing away in luggage on a flight from Ibiza.

The lizard, the size of a 50p coin, sneaked into the country by hiding in a holidaymakers' luggage when she was leaving the party island.

The gecko, nicknamed Gavalaar, was found scurrying around a flat in Enfield, north London, on Monday.

The gecko can't go home, due to quarantine laws, and now needs to find a specialist home.

The woman contacted us to say she'd found the gecko in her home.

She'd been on holiday to Ibiza earlier this year and thinks the gecko may have come home in her suitcase by mistake.

Gavalaar is orange and brown and speckles running along his little back.
