Bow stabbings: Second lone woman, 57, knifed as man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder after a second lone woman was stabbed in east London.

The woman, 57, was knifed at 8.30pm on Sunday in Parnell Road, Bow .

She suffered multiple wounds but her injuries are not life threatening.

The stabbing was just yards from where a woman in her 60s was stabbed on her way home from buying fish and chips in Chariot Close on Friday evening.

Police believe the two incidents may be linked and the 36-year-old man was arrested in Bow early on Monday morning.

Another man, 51, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm on Sunday in relation to Friday’s stabbing. He was released under investigation.
