The father of a three-year-old girl attacked by a fox in her bed has told how she was left petrified by her ordeal.
Father tells how terrified daughter, 3, woke up in bed to find fox biting her arm
Heidi Cooper screamed when she woke to find the fox biting her arm after it had sneaked in through an open back door at the south-east London home - writes standard.co.uk
Her parents were watching TV in the sitting room with their four-month-old baby when they heard her screams of panic.
Father George Cooper, 37, a taxi driver, raced to her room. “I turned on the light and saw it jump down. She was screaming ‘fox’. I stamped my foot and the fox went down the stairs and out.”
Heidi was left bleeding from bites and scratches to her hand and arm in the attack in Petts Wood last Tuesday.
Mr Cooper said: “I feel sick about it. Normally the four-month-old baby could have been up there with her. It could have been so much worse. She says the ‘bad fox might come back’ but I’ve been sleeping in with her now. I’m shocked it happened to us.”
Such attacks are rare but young foxes are thought to be more likely to attack humans as they are more curious.
