Here is the 2018 Vlogstar Challenge winner

BAFTA played host to this year’s Vlogstar Challenge grand final where 15 aspiring vloggers showcased their entries in front of a live judging panel.

And this year’s champion, Munna Sherif, won the 2018 title with her entry Anxiety, I Own You.

“I can’t actually believe I won this, but this is just an example of what it is that you can do in life. Anything is achievable if you just put your mind into it,” she said.

Vlogstar Challenge, now in its third year, is a vlogging competition open to London and Essex-based people aged between 16 and 25.

This year saw a staggering 1,500 entries in which 150 semi-finalists won a place on a workshop at YouTube HQ in London.

This year’s judges, which include online music, film and television personalities such as Noel Clarke, Ashley Walters , Mariah Idrissi and Humza Arshad , whittled the entries down to a further 15, which then culminated to a live judging panel over at BAFTA in Piccadilly Circus.

Broadcaster and Media Trust ’s Jasmine Dotiwala said: “Although it’s a ‘competition’ I think that it’s fair to say that every finalist felt like a winner last night.

“It was such an incredible moment to see these aspiring young film makers who have so much to say, screen their work and stand on stage and share their stories.”

The scheme is backed by the Jack Petchey Foundation and the Media Trust with support from YouTube and Evening Standard.

The 2019 Vlogstar Challenge is now open for submissions. Visit the Vlogstar Challenge website for more details.
