Tennis fans on their way home went to any length necessary to grab a glimpse of the dramatic match, which saw England win on penalties in the World Cup for the first time ever .

Those unable to find a pub or a stream of the game squeezed themselves in around the woman'sfront room.

About 35 people were pictured trying to peer in to catch the score and see the drama unfold, with Felicity Baker taking an image of the scene.

She tweeted: “The perils of having a big screen TV clearly visible in your front room on the walk home from Wimbledon…”
