Leytonstone crash: Man fighting for life after crashing car into lamppost in east London

A man is fighting for life after crashing his car into a lamppost on a major east London road.

The man, aged in his 30s, was driving westbound along the A12, near the Leytonstone junction, when the incident happened early on Sunday morning - writes standard.co.uk.

Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to scene shortly before 5am.

The driver was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition, police said.

A Met Office spokesman added: “Officers are in the process of informing his next of kin. No arrests have been made.”
