A resident of London came up with a brilliant way to eat for £5 per week

25-year-old Josephine Liang claims that she does not eat from time to time from garbage cans, but can afford even exquisite restaurant dishes. Determined to show that people throw out too much food, Josephine excluded shopping.

The woman used the Olio app to find food that restaurants or just common people living nearby were about to throw away. Each person can offer the remaining food or even alcohol so that people nearby could pick up needless products, usually free of charge, but sometimes for a small fee.

Before the experiment began, Josephine spent about £20-30 per week, but saving money is not the only plus. The woman found an app called Too Good To Go, where restaurants such as Yo Sushi! and Mister Lasagna, as well as local bakeries and snack bars give unused products for a small fee at the end of the working day.

"For a few pounds only, you can get a huge portion of delicious quality food from the restaurant!", - added Josephine. In addition to applications, the woman uses more traditional methods of obtaining cheap food. "There are a lot of food stores that store food for one day, and then when the store closes, all the products are thrown away, because on the next day there should be only the freshest goods. But all these products are still quite edible! Too bad that in some places all food is mixed, and therefore people can not use it."

“Many people do not like my idea, because those products were supposed to be thrown away, but I only take clean products of good quality. In addition, I go to a supermarket and buy discounted products with yellow stickers. They are easy to prepare or freeze. I think that each of us can do these things in everyday life. After spending a little time and using creative thinking, we can significantly reduce the cost of food", - she says.
