London Cancer Hub and Town Centre Masterplan feature in new exhibition

The London Cancer Hub and Sutton’s Town Centre Masterplan feature in a new exhibition which explores the important role town centres are playing as London’s population grows.

The exhibition calledLondon’s Towns: Shaping the Polycentric Cityis hosted by independent organisation New London Architecture (NLA) and runs at its gallery in central London until January - writes

NLA’s latest insight study shows that as central London becomes increasingly unaffordable and as the population continues to expand, more people and businesses are settling beyond the centre in places such as Sutton.

The exhibition reveals the results of in-depth research, interviews with key experts and examines the future of the capital’s outer urban centres, exploring the next wave of development taking shape – from masterplans, mixed-use buildings, workspaces and public buildings, to retail and leisure.

The London Cancer Hub is a collaboration between Sutton Council and The Institute of Cancer Research. The London Cancer Hub will potentially create more than 13,000 jobs and will deliver major benefits for cancer patients and the local, London and national economy.

Sutton’s Town Centre Masterplan includes a wide array of recommendations and projects to establish a clear direction for Sutton town centre over the next 15 years.

London’s Towns: Shaping the Polycentric Cityruns until 11 January. For more information on the exhibition visit
