The blockades are a precautionary measure by the Metropolitan Police to ensure the public are safe during the two-week competition.
"We have taken into account the (current UK) threat level and those awful terrorist attacks that have taken place, and as a result, we have put together a proportionate policing plan with a significant number of resources to support the club to deliver a really safe secure competition this year."

As part of the policing measures, firearms officers will be deployed around the grounds and plain clothes officers will also be on site.
