The European Union is ready to start negotiations with Great Britain for the faster coordination of Brexit conditions. This position was voiced by the representative of the Union Michel Barnier. The official stressed that Brussels is ready to start dialogue immediately, right after the end of the elections in Britain.
The first negotiations can already be held on 19th of June. Brussels continues to urge London to find the most convenient option for the 'divorce' completion. With such statement, Barnier reacted to the recent threats of the British government, which has stated that it could stop the dialogue at all, if the European Union continues to insist on the fulfillment of its requirements.
Brussels is ready for a full-fledged dialogue with London, but intends to obtain the guarantees provision for residence in the UK after Brexit for citizens of European countries. Barnier added that himself, he would like to see the EU and the UK legally split up on equal terms, and signed agreements in the trade field and migration management. Further cooperation in the economic and political spheres is possible only in this case.
