DLR upgrading - forty-three new trains which will have air conditioning and USB ports.

Londoners and tourists in London will have the possibility to take new trains “Docklands Light Railway” and relish comfort in them while traveling. The trains will be supplied with air conditioning and USB recharging ports to make trips more enjoyable.

“Transport for London” noted that forty-three new trains will increase the capacity in DLR by 30%, when they will be put into operation in five years (2022). Two-thirds of the train fleet will be replaced with new trains because some of them are 25 years old already.

Director of DLR, Danny Price mentioned: "New trains will increase the capacity of DLR by 30%, as well as the comfort level, reliability and the quality of services. We invest money into the long-term prospect and will be able to support the expansion of east London. We want to start the tender this year, and new trains will be introduced in 2022 already."
