Charity organisation says more need to be done to tackle gun crime among London's youth

London is facing what police have described as a "deeply worrying" rise in gun crime.

New figures show 12 people were shot dead last year, while 89 others suffered serious injuries.

It comes just one month into a new plan by the Mayor and the Met Commissioner Cressida Dick to tackle violent crime.

One of those who died in an attack was 16-year-old Karim Samms from North Woolwich.

He was a member of the group 'Fight for Peace' - an organisation that works to keep violence off the streets and support young people into employment or training.
