This powerful documentary tells the story of fifty exiled Syrian women who came together in Jordan to create and perform their own version of The Trojan Women , the timeless Greek tragedy about the plight of women in war. The production precipitated an extraordinary coming together in awarenss, with women born in 20th century Syria finding a vivid mirror of their own experiences in the stories of a queen, princesses and ordinary women like them, uprooted, enslaved, and bereaved during the Trojan War.

The film has won numerous awards and we are pleased to be holding this screening to raise funds for local charity Salusbury World , which helps settle refugees and immigrants into the community. There will be representatives from Salusbury World with us afterwards to discuss the issues raised, and the invaluable work that the charity does.
